Thursday the 6th of August 2009

It is with great regret and sadness that we report the passing of Perri Tsiaplias, Berwick Kings coach and clubman from 2005 to 2007.

Perri had a remarkable influence on our club throughout his time, and we are forever grateful for his contribution and endless passion and determination. He was full of life and was never discouraged by anything life may have thrown at him.

We use this opportunity to pass our condolences to his ever supportive family at this dreadful time. We only hope you will confront this tragedy with the same valour as Perri showed throughout his life.

The football community has lost a great servant of the game. Those who knew Perri have lost a great friend, one who always went out of his way to put a smile on our face.

Rest in peace Perri.

Berwick Kings Football Club committee, supporters, players, and friends.

Minute silence

A minute silence will be observed at Betula Park this Saturday the 8th of August in memory of Perri Tsiaplias before the senior match kick-off between Berwick Kings and Whitehorse United

Springvale City FC v Boroondara Eagles FC

In memory of Perri Tsiaplias...

On Thursday, 6 of August 2009, Head Coach at the Boroondara Eagles Football Club Perri Tsiaplias tragically passed away at the young age of 35.

Perri had an active involvement in Victorian Football both as a player and a coach throughout his lifetime and the outpouring of emotion and support shown since his death have highlighted the wonderful impact Perri had on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

As a result of Perri’s passing, the Round 18 fixture in State League 3 South/East between Springvale City FC and the Boroondara Eagles FC was postponed.

The match will now be played this Wednesday, 26 August 2009 at The Grange Reserve, Osborne Avenue in Clayton South. The Seniors will kick off at 8:30 p.m.

The last few weeks have been difficult for all who knew Perri, particularly his wife, family, friends and the Boroondara Eagles FC where he was Head Coach from 2008 until his death. The challenge of getting on with life without him is one that can only be eased by the support of team mates, family, friends and the community. Both Springvale City FC and the Boroondara Eagles FC are using this Wednesday's match as an opportunity to acknowledge Perri's dedication and commitment to the development of Football in Victoria, and to provide the Victorian Football community with an opportunity show their support and pay their respects to Perri's family in a public forum.

There will be a one minute silence prior to the commencement of the Seniors’ match and a presentation to the Tsiaplias Family. In addition, a raffle will be run during the course of the evening, the proceeds of which will be donated to Perri’s wife.
